Classroom Rules and Procedures:

Students are expected to follow all Codes of Discipline as outlined in the Ilima/Ewa Makai Middle School Student Planner & Handbook. These behaviors are designed to create the best learning and working environment possible. We need law and order in our experience to allow for optimum health, understanding, mutual respect and creativity. Be the respectful, thoughtful, unique individual that you are!

Do:

1. Report to class on time. Line up outside the classroom door until given permission to enter.
2. Bring required materials: Student Planner, Pencils, Paper, Sketchbook, etc.
3. Sit at your assigned seat.
4. Follow directions. Give full cooperation and attention to the teacher. Listen for specific         announcements, information, and assignments.
5. Raise your hand before speaking. Raise your hand if you need help.
6. Listen quietly and patiently to teacher/peers when it is their turn to speak.
7. Participate in discussions and presentations. Speak politely and appropriately.
8. Demonstrate respect for others and their work.
9. Demonstrate respect for Class/School property, materials, and equipment.
10. Wait for the appropriate time to get materials out as instructed.
11. Remain on task throughout each class period. Stay in your seats. Roaming is not allowed.
12. Work to the best of your ability.
13. Turn in all assignments in a timely manner.
14. Cooperate and clean up.
15. Wait in your seat for a final clean check of tables, floors and common areas before being dismissed: DO NOT LINE UP AT THE DOOR. Tables, floors, and common work areas must be clean before you will be dismissed.
16. Make sure your chair is returned to the proper table and push it in before you leave. If you are the last class of the day, you will be required to put up the chairs and help close the windows.
No Food, Sunflower Seeds or Gum Chewing is allowed.
Penalties/Consequences:
    1. Verbal Warning
    2. Student& Teacher conference with possible seat change and/or teacher given detention
    3. Parent contact
    4. Office Referral
Severe Disruption: (harassment, fighting, causing harm to self or another student in any way, destruction of property, defiant behavior) Student is immediately referred to the office.
